Summer 2017 Reading List! Whoo!

Summer Reading 2017, Collage, Books, Booklr

Summer is here and I am so excited! Days are longer, hotter, and people (in a way) are more 'chill.' So, in order to celebrate this summer, I've decided to put together a list of some books I plan to read (and/or devour) this season.

Let's begin...

Some Kind of Happiness1. Some Kind of Happiness by

During my adventures at the bookstore, I found this cute little book. Look how cute that cover is..... yes, I love book covers... ask around...
In general, the story has a mix of reality and fantasy... I am excited to read it!

Mark of the Thief (Mark of the Thief, #1)2. Mark of the Thief by

I've been reading a lot of Jennifer Nielsen books - well, I just finished reading the Ascendance Trilogy and it was awesome! So, I am giving 'Mark of the Thief' a try.

This book has been on my list for the longest time ever ... I've had it in my hands so many times and never read it. I think what is holding me back is the 'first person / present' POV, but I am willing to push that aside (or at least try) and read it. It's a book that has mixed reviews, so I want to know for myself if its epic or an epic[flop]. I am sure it will be good. I can feeeeeell ittt...

Bane and Shadow (Empire of Storms, #2) 4. Bane and Shadow (Empire of Storms #2)  by

Bane and Shadow is book 2 of the Empire of Storms Series. I read Book 1 [Hope and Red] almost a year ago and fell in love with it. So, I am ready to read more about this duo not so duo anymore... 'cause stuff happens at the end of book 1. I need to know what happens to RED!!!!

Ok.. enough screaming, let's move on...

Valkyrie 5. Valkyrie (Valkyrie #1) by

I think you guys know by now that I mostly read Middle Grade and Young Adult. The premise of this book sounded amazing and pretty adventurous. Plus, look at the cover... I totally want to wear what she is wearing!

Traitor's Blade (Greatcoats, #1)6.  Traitor's Blade (Greatcoats #1) by

This book actually sparked my curiosity when Melanie of MEL TO THE ANY was throwing this book series at everybody's faces while screaming ' this is awesome!'
I've read the first chapter and... it made me laugh so loud... I always say 'it's always a good sign when a book makes me laugh in the first chapter.' So, I was sold!
The version I purchased is a lovely gold with an mysterious shade of red that creates the silhouette of one of the Greatcoats. It's so preeettyyy!!

Ink and Bone (The Great Library, #1)7.  Ink and Bone (The Great Library #1) by

Ink and Bone is kinda in the same category of 'An Ember in the Ashes,' I've had it in my hand so many times and never got to it. Well, it's on now! lol

This book totally caught my eye while I was at the book store.
I am usually not a fan of really long books and this thing is HUGE. It's the size of a Yoga block! I am taking a chance. The story sounded interesting ... it has kingdoms, political issues, and based on the synopsis ... its stabbbyyy. It's currently on my bookshelf right now ... staring at me.
This thing is big, my friends... I might even take brakes while reading this... my arms might break or they may be toned from all the lifting. lol.

I honestly don't know how I am going to do it, considering I am currently revising a project, writing another, a wedding, aaannndd work (obviously) ...  but I love my books and that wonderful feeling of reading. Nothing can match that.
